Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation

Jesús María García, the town chronicler, dates its construction to 1555 and highlights one of its most valuable features: the roof structure in the Granada Mudéjar tradition. Its history was shaped by the Morisco War. The building was damaged and rebuilt after the destruction of the town and its subsequent repopulation. New spaces were added to the original structure.
Jesús María points to the Baroque chapel dedicated to the tabernacle and suggests dating it to around the 17th century. If you can enter, observe how the wooden roof and the chapel reflect different architectural styles. Outside, look up at the tower: above the clock is the coat of arms that the chronicler identifies with the parish’s former ecclesiastical link to Toledo.
Each element allows you to read the building as a structure transformed over time and connected to the history of the town.
