Reception Centre — Welcome from the Dama de Galera

Hello. I am the Dama de Galera. Perhaps you have seen a picture of me: I am seated, holding a bowl, with two very special guardians. They are two sphinxes, and they have been by my side for a very long time. I am a very ancient stone figure. I was carved about 2,700 years ago. I am even older than the tomb where I was found. There is still much to discover about how I came to Tútugi.

The Iberians lived here. That is what we call the peoples who inhabited different parts of the Iberian Peninsula more than two thousand years ago. They farmed the land, cared for animals, made vessels, traded and lived in settlements such as Tútugi. I was in a place that was very special to its inhabitants. Centuries passed, and I ended up underground, until some people found me in a place hidden among these tombs.

Will you be able to follow my clues and discover it? When you arrive, I will reveal a secret I keep inside me… Along the way, I will set you four challenges. Each one will give us a clue to learn more about the people who lived here and understand why this place was important to them.
